Since 2005, I have developed several successful social networks for Russian-speaking people with more than 30 million registered users total. The first one has been acquired by Yandex, LLC (NASDAQ:YNDX) in 2007, another one has been funded by the Russian brokerage and investment company Finam in 2008.

I have a really good technical background -- many thanks for that to my professors from famous Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) and Institute for System Programming and to many colleagues and friends, with whom I've spent years of programming, hacking and developing exciting things.

One of my most advanced technical skills is Database Theory & Practice. I worked with Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL, Interbase and Firebird, but since 2004, I am totally PostgreSQL addicted. This is really a masterpiece of software, being developed by amazing people all over the world, many of whom I am glad to be friends with.

Right now I'm fully focused on database systems and PostgreSQL. My current primary interests are:
- automated database administration,
- automated database experiments in CI/CD pipelines (a.k.a. "full-fledged DB staging on demand"),
- machine learning applied to database systems administration,
- query optimization,
- PostgreSQL tuning,
- SQL and PL/pgSQL optimization,
- Postgres in clouds, containers and VMs.

I prefer going as high as possible and diving as deep as possible, in any question. Maybe that's why I love aviation and freediving, two things that help you feel real freedom and understand in what beautiful world we live.
